Welcome to A Promising Place! One family's experiment in feeding themselves. A few years ago we gave away half of everything we owned, packed up the rest, and moved from Colorado to Idaho. We left everything and everyone we'd ever known for a new life on 8 acres with water. We chose to make the leap to living our dream of growing our own food and living a simpler life. I'm Kerri, and this is a blog near and dear to my heart. I'm a wife and mom of 4. I love good strong coffee and hanging out on Instagram. Self-sufficiency, permaculture, and alternative agriculture fascinate me. I'm passionate about real food, relentless positivity, and debt-free living. I believe in a life lived on purpose. My life is a mindfully cultivated hodge-podge of bliss. I am a blogger, writer, runner, recipe creator, homeschooler, wanna-be farmer, chicken wrangler, rabid reader, locavore, distressed denim aficionado, SAHM, baker and candlestick-maker.
